Forested hills stretch east to the nearby rugged Maine coast. The twin cities of Brewer and Bangor, astride the Penobscot River, sit just to the west. On top of the highest point in Brewer, the Brewer Professional Center has taken shape as one of the region's most prestigious business addresses. Several adjacent parcels are being developed, with a total build out projected to be about 600,000 square feet. Image: Brewer Professional Center

The Brewer Professional Center is anchored by Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems (EMHS), using more than 220,000 square feet of corporate office and outpatient care facilities to serve its network of hospitals, physician practices, and related health enterprises. EMHS is headquartered in the Cianchette Building, which is owned by Cianbro Corporation and leased by EMHS.

Site work for a second building is currently under way adjacent to the Cianchette Building. This new building will house Eastern Maine Medical Center’s CancerCare of Maine – and will include laboratory, imaging, and pharmacy services, as well as the Maine Institute for Human Genetics and Health. The institute is a joint effort by EMHS, EMMC, The Jackson Laboratory, and the University of Maine. It will bring together scientists and bioscience related businesses to work together under in the Brewer Professional Center.

Building construction will begin in the spring of 2008 with an anticipated opening in the fall of 2009.

Image: People in ParkThe Brewer Professional Center’s vision is for moderate to high end professional buildings, establishing a quiet and pristine, but easy to reach workplace for companies in the service, financial, technology, healthcare and other professional sectors.

The Brewer Professional Center is at the crossroads of Eastern Maine. Interstate 395 circles its southern perimeter, and the adjacent exit allows quick access to Interstate 95 and points north and south, as well as the Bangor International Airport. Route One-A runs along the northern perimeter of the BPC, and then heads east to Bar Harbor and other high profile destinations on the Maine coast. A planned extension of Interstate-395 will link Brewer Professional Center directly to Route Nine and the Canadian Maritime Provinces just beyond.

The remaining space in the Brewer Professional Center is now being marketed to other companies who fit the professional profile established for the project. Interested companies can purchase a site, lease a site and build, or the partners can build to suit to meet a prospective tenant's needs.
